We booked with Allegra for an overnight sitting with our dog and cat after seeing many positive reviews from her previous clients. However, we are very dissatisfied with the level of care she gave and the lack of communication we received. First and foremost, Allegra was hours late to the sitting. We had reached out to see where she was and got no response for 30 minutes before we finally decided to call and see when she would be arriving. This was very worrisome to us because we had already left for our trip many hours prior to when she was supposed to arrive and were not even in the area anymore if something were to come up and her not show up. She knew beforehand the arrival time as we met with her days prior when she came for a meet and greet with our pets. After arriving late we got communication and photo updates upon arrival to our home but never got any more after that. She only reached out two times: #1 the next morning about leaving and #2 about giving a potty break once (but gave no photos of the pets or updates on a regular basis). We also left out printed instructions for everything related to care for our home and the pets. It was evident that she did not read this because the password to our wifi was on it yet we received a text asking for the wifi password. After telling her to find the wifi password on the printed instructions we had hoped she would read through everything else but again it was evident she did not because she left our home in a way we told her not to. (We had very specific instructions about making sure to leave bedroom doors closed upon exiting the apartment, but we came home to all doors open) Given all the red flags we encountered in this short 24 hour period we were anxious to see what we would come home to. Upon arriving back home we noticed our home left a mess and out of order. Our pets had no water and our cat was so thirsty that she chugged the water we gave her so quickly and actually got sick. Our living room was left in a disarray with tv trays pulled out and dirtied and not put back, couch pillows misplaced, and a dirty kitchen sink. Also, we found it disrespectful that this person came into our home and indulged in our groceries and even leaving none of one particular item left. She didn’t mention she would be using our groceries and told us she would actually be ordering in. I am actually shocked by this behavior given all of the good reviews. We would not allow this sitter back into our home again.

Allegra did a great job with my cats. One in particular is very skittish and he warmed up to her quickly.
